Britain’s Foreign Minister David Cameron on Sunday dismissed early results from Russia indicating that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been comfortably re-elected.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Russian presidential election held on Sunday saw Putin emerge victorious with around 88% of votes, according to the first official results released after the poll closed.
Only three ‘token’ candidates were allowed to run against Putin, and none of them opposed his war in Ukraine.
“This is not what free and fair elections look like,” the UK Foreign Minister posted on Twitter, formerly X, noting that voting had been held illegally on occupied Ukrainian territory and there had been a lack of choice for voters.
