Gatekeepers News reports that the programme which was organised by Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo saw Muslim faithful drawn from across the constituents of Edo North.
They received various food items as Ramadan gifts. The event equally saw the empowerment of over 200 women engaged in petty trading with the sum of N10,000 each.
Dr Ighodalo assured the people of his commitment towards ensuring that their needs are attended to irrespective of religion or tribe.
Dr Ighodalo enjoined everyone present to commit Edo state and Nigeria to prayers in this holy month so that God directs both the leaders and the citizens for progress, peace and prosperity.
He said that security is a collective responsibility and that every individual should work to ensure that aliens who nurse evil intentions towards the prosperity of the society are spotted, reported to security agencies for prompt action.
He encouraged parents especially mothers to advice their children and wards to always be on the path of good behaviour because every action has consequences, stressing that once the home is good, the society will prosperity.
He emphasised that once the issue of security in the state is adequately addressed, investors will bring their businesses and this would translate to a prosperous Edo state where youths will be gainfully engaged.
Over 1000 women from various Asalatu congregations from Auchi, Agbede, Ibie, Uzairue and others graced the occasion and left with food items such as rice, beans, indomie and vegetable oil.
