Dr Tinuade Sanda, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), has highlighted her achievements during her second-year tenure in office.
Gatekeepers News reports that recently, Sanda has been in the news amid an internal crisis at the EKEDC, which prompted the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to address the issues and nullify her initial removal by EKEDC’s chairman, Dere Otubu
Appointed as the first female MD/CEO of the Company in March 2022, Sanda in a statement titled ‘Two Years of Transformative Leadership at EKEDC’, Sanda expressed her appreciation to the EKEDC board, management team, and employees for their collective efforts and progress made so far.
She disclosed that during the transformative journey, EKEDC achieved some key milestones, which include:
– Pioneering Reduction in ATC & C Losses: We have achieved a remarkable 4.0% reduction in ATC & C losses, significantly surpassing our recent target set in February 2024, thereby establishing new benchmarks for operational efficiency.
– March Collection Triumph – Against All Odds: Despite the adversities of March, we managed to secure N14.9 billion in collections as of the March 28th, with optimism for further increases by the month’s end.
– Record Monthly Collection: Our collection of N17.1 billion in a single month exemplifies our financial acumen and operational excellence.
– Commitment to Employee Welfare through COLA: The successful rollout of the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) demonstrates our ongoing dedication to the welfare of our team members.
– Infrastructure and Service Enhancements: Strategic improvements, including the rollout of over 80,832 meters and the deployment of 150 new transformers, have markedly enhanced our infrastructure and customer satisfaction.
– Enhanced Power Supply Stability and Reliability: Our strategic initiative to evacuate 100MW from NDPHC has significantly bolstered the reliability of our power supply.
– ISO 27001 Certification: Achieving this certification is a testament to our unwavering commitment to uphold the highest standards of information security and protect customer data.
Sanda reflected on the company’s journey and expressed her warmest greetings to all EKEDC employees. She also thanked her family and friends for their steadfast support and belief in her leadership, which has been a constant source of motivation.
