Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Wednesday approved N225/kilowatt for Band A customers.
Gatekeepers News reports that NERC Vice Chairman, Musilu Oseni, made these known in a press briefing in Abuja.
Band A customers are those that enjoy a minimum of 20-hour per day electricity supply.
The commission noted that the band constitutes 15% of the customers in the electricity market.
According to him, the hike is three times of the previous rate paid by customers in the band.
He said customers in the other bands in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) are not affected by the increase.
