The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker (CDT) App, unveiled by the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Policy and Coordination and Head of the Central Delivery Coordination Unit, Hadiza Bala Usman, represents a significant step in encouraging transparency and accountability within the Nigerian Government.
Gatekeepers News reports that the CDT app, launched on April 8, 2024, is accessible at app.cdcu.gov.ng and offers a myriad of functionalities designed to empower citizens to monitor government performance and provide feedback on various initiatives.
Core Features of the CDT App:
1. Performance Monitoring: The app provides a platform for citizens to observe and evaluate the performance of public officials, including ministers, based on their achievements and contributions towards President Bola Tinubu’s 8-point agenda and other objectives.
2. Ministerial Assessment: It allows for the assessment of ministers and their deliverables, enhancing the transparency of governmental operations and the accountability of its officials.
3. Feedback Mechanism: Citizens are encouraged to voice their concerns and complaints about specific issues, marking a significant shift towards more inclusive governance.
4. Access to Information: The app serves as a repository of information on all ministers’ deliverables, recognising citizens’ crucial role in the governance process.
5. Real-Time Feedback: Nigerians can provide immediate feedback on their perception of the government’s performance in implementing policies, projects, and programs anywhere within or outside the country.
6. Transparency and Accountability: Detailed information on government priority projects and programs across the nation is made available, promoting a culture of transparency and shared responsibility.
7. Direct Communication: The app facilitates direct engagement between citizens and the CDCU, allowing Nigerians to submit assessments and observations of ministries, thereby ensuring that their voices are effectively heard.
