The Kingmakers of Ibadanland have confirmed that Owolabi Olakulehin, a former federal lawmaker, is fit to be crowned as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Gatekeepers News reports that this confirmation comes after objections raised by Abimbola Ajibola, the Otun Balogun, who had voiced concerns over the health of the 84-year-old ex-military officer.
The Olubadan-in-council, which comprised of 10 members, met at the Oja-Oba palace of the Olubadan and agreed that Olakulehin is suitable to be enthroned as the 43rd king of Ibadanland.
Ajibola, who had criticized Olakulehin, was absent from the meeting.
Rashidi Ladoja, Otun Olubadan and an ex-governor of Oyo, confirmed that a letter will be sent to the Governor to request his consent to the council’s recommendation.
The 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan, Olalekan Balogun died on March 14, aged 81.
