Sensuous Jazz Singer Yinka Davies To Serenade Guests At Rotary Media Awards

Yinka Davies, frontline vocalist, lyricist and dancer will perform at the Rotary International District 9110 Humanitarian Reporting Awards (RHRA) on April 17, 2024, at The Rotary Centre in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

Gatekeepers News reports that Yinka is also a voice coach and versatile actress who performs with nuance. She has promised to entertain the Rotarians and their guests in her inimitable style.

The district Governor of Rotary International, District 9110, Rotarian Ifeyinwa Ejezie, expressed her excitement ahead of the event, saying that Yinka’s enthralling performance will be a great addition to the District’s celebration of the media and their role in promoting the clubs and the district’s humanitarian interventions in Lagos and Ogun States.

Rotarian Ifeyinwa Ejezie, district governor of Rotary International, District 9110, says she looks forward to Yinka’s enthralling performance as the District celebrates the media for promoting clubs and the district’s humanitarian intervention projects and activities in Lagos and Ogun States.

“The awards are aimed at recognising and honouring media organisations and journalists for their support of Rotary, the world’s largest humanitarian service organisation,” says Ejezie.

The Chairman of the Humanitarian Reporting Awards Committee in the District, Rotarian Ehi Braimah, stated that the “awards would be presented in 10 out of 14 categories to media organisations and journalists, as well as Rotary Clubs and Rotarians.”

The categories and nominees include: Best TV Station (Arise News, Channels TV and TVC); Best Newspaper (The Guardian, ThisDay and New Telegraph); Best Online Newspaper (Legend News online, Brand Times and NewsSpy Online), and Best TV Station in Online Reporting (NTA, Arise News and TVC).

Other nominees are Outstanding Journalist (TVC’s Theophilus Elamah, Mosunmola Ogeolu of Arise News and Eniola Popoola of TVC); Outstanding Print Reporter (The Nation’s Joseph Eshanokpe, The Guardian’s Isaac Taiwo and New Telegraph’s Tony Okuyeme); Outstanding Club Public Image Chair (Rotarian Ifeoma Williams – Rotary Club of Lagos; Rotarian Oyinlola Sale – Rotary Club of Akowonjo and Rotarian B. Adesan – Rotary Club of Ajah Golden).

According to the Vice Chairman of the Awards Committee, Rotarian Olalekan Otun, the former Governor of Ogun State, who is also doyen of Nigerian journalism, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, is the Chairman of the awards ceremony, while the Provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Mr. Gbenga Adefaye, will deliver the keynote.
The high-profile guest list also includes Dr. John Momoh, Chairman/CEO of Channels TV Media Group and former Minister of Health and Past District Governor, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, as Special Guests of Honour.

Over 50 Rotarians and friends of Rotary agreed to support the awards and they will be specially recognised as “Advocates of the Humanitarian Reporting Awards.” Corporate sponsors include Ollam Systems Limited, BCIL Limited, Grynx Index Initiatives, We 2 Luv Babies Toys Store, Unbox, Trusted Edge Consult, ADG Logistics, Landmark Media Limited, Cordros Capital Limited, El-Bethel Nursery and Primary School, Access Bank Plc, Adna Hotel Limited, and Naija Times, the independent online newspaper.
