JUST IN: Court Grants Cubana Chief Priest N10m Bail

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Lagos State granted bail to Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, in the amount of N10 million with two sureties in like sum.

Gatekeepers News reports that the socialite and businessman was accused of abusing the Nigerian currency by allegedly spraying and tampering with it during a social event at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged him with three counts of abuse of naira, which is a violation of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

Cubana Chief Priest pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

During the social event, he was said to have sprayed the naira for two hours, tampering with funds in the denomination of N500 notes issued by the CBN.
