Senate has pardoned and recalled the Senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ahmed Ningi.
Gatekeepers News reports that Ningi was given a three-month suspension for accusing the Senate of budget padding on March 12, 2023.
The recall process was initiated after a motion moved by Deputy Minority Leader, Abba Moro, who apologized for the allegation on behalf of the suspended senator.
Abba Moro pledged to assume full responsibility for Sen. Ningi’s actions, acknowledging the seriousness of the suspension.
The senator’s conduct during the period of suspension has been closely scrutinized and debated by the legislative body.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, highlighted the senator’s valuable contributions and described him as a valued member of the Senate.
Akpabio further said that the decision to reinstate Ningi transcends religious and ethnic divides.
