FG Launches Single-Digit Interest Loan Scheme For Media Organisations

Mohammed Idris- Minister of Information And National Orientation
President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, through the Bank of Industry (BoI), to offer financing to media organisations in the country at a single-digit interest rate.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this announcement during sectoral press briefings to commemorate the first anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.

The Federal Government affirmed its commitment to creating a supportive environment for the media and information sectors.

Instead of a formal ceremony, the government opted for sectoral briefings, where ministers in the president’s cabinet will report on their performance.

Minister Idris emphasized the administration’s dedication to transparency and accountability, which are pivotal to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We are creating an enabling environment for all players and stakeholders in the media and information ecosystem to thrive.

“One highlight here is the recent directive by Mr President to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, through the Bank of Industry, to extend its single-digit interest-rate financing to media organisations in the country.

“It is now incumbent upon media practitioners to develop bankable proposals to access this financing facility being offered by the Federal Government, and I hope that you, the media, will take full advantage of this great opportunity,” he said.

He encouraged media professionals to take advantage of this financing opportunity, underscoring the government’s commitment to rebuilding public trust in communication and effectively promoting its policies and programs.
