Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has expressed her disapproval of the decision of President Tinubu’s administration to reinstate the old national anthem.
Gatekeepers News reports that President Tinubu had on Wednesday signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law to reinstate the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee”.
Kate Henshaw took to her official X account to criticize the timing of the change, questioning how reverting the old anthem was going to address the hardship in the country.
Kate lamented that Nigeria is facing severe hardship and poor governance on every level.
The actress posted sarcastically “ In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry, going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug.”
In another post, she quoted a part of the now-old national anthem saying, “The labour of our heroes past… o ti lo [is gone].”
