Tension In Kano As Sanusi And Bayero Plan Friday Prayer At Palace Mosque

Kano residents are on edge as a potential showdown looms between the reinstated Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the deposed Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, over Friday prayers at the Emir’s palace mosque.

Gatekeepers News reports that both leaders have issued statements inviting residents to join them for the congregational prayers, raising concerns about a possible confrontation.

Sanusi, who was recently reinstated as Emir, has announced his intention to lead the two rakat congregational Friday prayers at the palace mosque, while Bayero’s aide has invited residents to join him at the same mosque for Jumu’at prayer, with the procession starting at 12:30 pm.
