Group Manager, Credit Cards

Job Description:
- The Credit Cards Product Manager will be responsible for product development, market positioning, and product profitability across affiliates.
- A primary focus is to engage with affiliates to design and implement Credit Card product initiatives, and work with technology, operations and internal control in the development and delivery of Credit Cards across the group network.
- The product manager will be responsible for monitoring portfolio performance and recommend measures to accelerate portfolio growth, working with internal stakeholders, affiliates, schemes, and vendors. The role holder would also be responsible for support with new Issuers that are looking to launch Credit card products and the local sales teams in their business development efforts.
JOB CONTEXT
- Planning, developing and managing the Credit Card Business as a subset of Assets and Cards issuing Business.
- Manage the development and implementation of strategies to cover: Customers, Channels & Processes
- Achieving business outcomes in terms of customers, revenue, cost, and profit
- High impetus to the sales and branch networks in the achievement of product-wise sales targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business and Financial
- Manage Credit Card sales, revenue & profitability across affiliate in the budgeted timelines.
- Set business performance standards for: Acquisition, Retention, Portfolio management and Attrition Management
- Develop strategies for maximizing revenue generation through both Interchange and Interest income.
- Develop the product proposition for the Credit Card product in terms of: Features, Buy now pay later, Easy instalments payments, Cash on loan, Salary advance on card , Rewards, Incentivising budgets
- Drive the product alignment activity for the Credit Card Product in-line with the strategy of the bank.
- Coordinate with other Product Managers – to broaden the Credit product offerings by embedding it in the other products of the bank.
- Ensure maximum cross sell of customers who do not meet Loan criteria to be offered credit cards.
- Support all sales efforts to be the “Best in the Market” in terms of In-branch/Indirect acquisition model, – Sales force management, Relationship management and Telesales
Customer Excellence
- Drive customer service excellence and ensure competitive solutions and products are consistently delivered to customers.
- Create formal and informal feedback systems to analyse the product performance.
- Drive the system towards service quality standards in an efficient operation where risks are well controlled.
- Ensure a robust service management framework is in place to achieve optimal customer experience
- Continuously upgrade and innovate the product to be “customer centric”.
- Handle the relationship with the service providers and schemes – E process, vendors, VISA / MasterCard.
Leadership and people management
- Motivate and lead team to achieve consistent profitability through a clear process of target settings.
- Conduct regular People performance and productivity reviews and build healthy talent pipeline.
- Encourage and foster a congenial working environment to enable teams to achieve excellence through teamwork and operational efficiency.
- Ensure an agile and efficient workforce with right skills to meet strategic objectives.
Process, control and operational performance.
- Develop appropriate operational procedures for the Credit Card product
- Ensure there is a strong internal control system in place and monitor its adequacy and effectiveness.
- Control and periodically check operational risks and workflow.
- Monitor the Outstanding items raised and ensure quick resolution.
- Set up, Monitor and support collections unit for the credit card product.
Strategic initiatives
- Develop engagements with internal stakeholders, affiliates and regulators with aim to achieve Credit card acceptance and roll out.
- Ensure understanding and clarity of Credit card offering to all stakeholders to dispel any misconceptions and myths about the product.

- Strategic thinking and ability to conceptualize new products and implementation capabilities.

- Ability in business planning relating to sales, distribution, and service.
- Ability in Credit card systems and operations
