Controversial social media critic, Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan has been freed from jail.
Gatekeepers News reports that VeryDarkMan was scheduled for release one week after his arraignment by the police for cyberstalking and bullying on May 22, 2024.
Recall that VeryDarkMan was arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, facing five counts of cyberstalking involving the Nigeria police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike, to which he pleaded not guilty.
A video showing the social media critic walking into his fans after he was released went viral on the social media platform, X on Monday.
The former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore also took to his official Instagram account to share a photo of the activist.
Sowore added a message of gratitude to Nigerians who showed their support for the Critic.
He also thanked the Nigerian human right activist, Deji Adeyanju for the role he played in securing VDM’s release.
Sowore wrote: “Good news on Easter Sunday! @verydarkblackman is now free! Thanks for all your efforts to ensure oppression will not always win! #RevolutionNow. Big thanks to Barrister Adeyanju Deji and the astute legal team and advocates for a good fight.”
Also, Deji Adeyanju took to his official X account to share pictures of VeryDarkMan appearance after his release.
