An accident occurred in Ososa, on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway, on Sunday, Eid-el-Kabir.
Gatekeepers News reports that two people died, while three sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Mrs Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident through a statement released to the press in Abeokuta.
Okpe said that an ash-coloured Howo Truck with no registration number and a blue Toyota Camry Car with registration number APP 478 FS were involved in the accident which occurred at about 11:28 a.m.
She noted that the accident was caused by excessive speed which led to loss of control and subsequent collision of the two vehicles.
Okpe added that five people; a man and four women were involved in the accident.
She said “A total of two people were killed, which comprised one man and a woman, while three women got injured,” she said.
The spokesperson further revealed that the injured were taken to the General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, for medical treatment while the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.
