Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has extended the deadline for the 2024 oil block licensing round by 10 days.
Gatekeepers News reports that the registration and submission of pre-qualification documents will now close on July 5, 2024, instead of the initial June 25, 2024.
According to Gbenga Komolafe, Commission Chief Executive (CCE) of NUPRC, the extension is to allow interested investors to take advantage of the expanded opportunities in the upstream oil and gas sector.
The Commission has also added 17 deep offshore blocks to the 2024 Licensing Round, following the acquisition of additional data. Bidders have the option to bid for the blocks as clusters or single units.
