Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare has on Sunday called out the Nigerian Police for allegedly brutalizing her.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Yoruba actress took to her social media account to tell the world what transpired between her and some police operatives on Saturday along the Ikorodu Expressway.
The actress could be seen in the video posted online, yelling at the police operative who stopped her while it was raining.
She asked why they stopped only her and allowed other cars to drive by.
Laide claimed that the police entered her car and drove away with her 14-year-old daughter to an unknown destination.
She said,” It was my first time witnessing the harsh treatment Nigerians face in that area.”
“I can’t fathom how someone in their right mind would drive off with a car that had a child inside.”
“There are numerous issues in this country that require immediate attention. The incident left my daughter extremely scared.”
Laide further said that the police singled out large vehicles and vulnerable individuals to extort and steal from, saying they only intended to collect their N70,000 from them.
