Pregnant Woman Faked Own Kidnap— Police

Ogun State Police Command has revealed that the pregnant woman reported to have been kidnapped on her way to the hospital, in the Ijaye area of Abeokuta, last Friday, Raheemat Ogunbunmi faked her abduction story.

Gatekeepers News reports that Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola through a post on X said the kidnapping unit of the command tracked and found the woman in Kwara State with her father.

Omolola added that the woman pretended she was abducted to escape the wrath of her husband because she had a miscarriage.

Recall that her husband, Lateef Ogunbunmi had taken to abduction Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters to report the case of abduction after he received a message on Whatsapp.

Omolola said, “Rahemat Lateef, who, the husband reported abducted, was never abducted, but planned her journey to Kwara State, to escape the wrath of her husband, because she has remained unlucky due to miscarriages.”

“She planned the stories, she travelled to Kwara State herself, she was far from kidnap. She had a miscarriage, frustrated due to repeated reoccurrences, feared her husband’s reactions, she orchestrated the script. Anti-kidnapping team had started tracking her, till she showed up. She is under medical attention, safe.”
