JUST IN: Fire At Dangote Refinery Contained
On Wednesday, a minor fire broke out at the effluent treatment plant of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.

Gatekeepers News reports that firefighters and first responders quickly put out the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Videos shared on social media showed a large plume of smoke rising from the facility, but the fire was contained before it could spread.

According to Anthony Chiejina, a spokesman for the company, the fire did not affect operations at the refinery.

“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty,” he said.

The refinery, which is owned by billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote and began operations last December, has already started supplying diesel and aviation fuel to marketers and is expected to start supplying petrol in mid-July.
