Jigawa State Government has on Friday dissolved elected local councils of twenty-seven (27) local governments.
Gatekeepers News reports that this is due to the expiration of their terms.
Spokesman of Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, Najib Umar made the announcement through a statement released on Friday.
According to Umar; Directors of Administration and General Services (DAGs) have been directed to take over the administration of local governments in the state with immediate effect.
He said,” Therefore, all appointed officials, including Secretaries, Supervisory Councillors, Special advisers, and assistants of all the Local Government Councils, are equally relieved of their appointments.”

Namadi FCA, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Hon. “He further called on them for immediate handing over of all Governments’ Belongings in their possessions.”
