Court Grants Mohbad’s Family Permission To Conduct Second Autopsy

Family of the late singer Mohbad has been granted permission by the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State to proceed with a second autopsy.

Gatekeepers News reports that this decision comes after the family expressed dissatisfaction with the initial autopsy results, which were inconclusive.

The 27-year-old singer passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

Following public demand to determine the cause of his death, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). Despite this, his family rejected the initial autopsy result and requested an independent toxicology report to be submitted to the court.

This led to the court granting permission for a second autopsy during a hearing on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
