Suicide Bombers Strike at Wedding Venue and Burial Ground in Borno
Tragedy struck in Gwoza town, Borno State, on Saturday as two suicide bombers attacked a wedding venue, killing seven people, including a soldier, and injuring sixteen others.

Gatekeepers News reports that the first bomber, a young mother in her twenties, detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) while carrying a baby on her back, killing six wedding guests. As the community gathered to bury the dead, another bomber disguised as a mourner detonated a second IED at the burial ground, claiming one more life.

The Nigerian Army troops successfully repelled a subsequent attack on the 192 Brigade, but the military has imposed a curfew in Gwoza with immediate effect. The injured are receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Gwoza. The incident has been confirmed by the spokesperson of Sector One Operation Hadin Kai and 7 Division, although a detailed situation report is still pending.
