Many Trapped As Abuja Hotel Building Collapses

Tragedy in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja on Monday night after a four-story building attached to the Westbrook Hotel collapsed, trapping several people under the rubble.

Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred around 9pm, with eyewitnesses reporting hearing a loud sound before the building came crashing down.

Emergency services were quickly deployed to the scene, with rescue operations ongoing throughout the night.

According to reports, at least two people have been pulled out from the rubble and taken to the hospital, with their condition unknown.

The rescue efforts are still underway, with fears of possible casualties.

The cause of the collapse is not yet known, but authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
