Senate has confirmed Abdullahi Bello as Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
Gatekeepers News reports that this comes after chairman of Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions, Neda Bernards presented a report.
According to Bernards, the committee did not receive any petition seeking to disqualify Bello from the position.
He said, “The committee received no petitions against the nominee and he presented himself very well.”
“After thorough screening and questions, the committee is satisfied with the qualifications of the nominee as chair of the Code of Conduct Bureau.”
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Bello as chair of the Code of Conduct Bureau in March.
The President had through a statement released by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale at the time that he believes Bello would lead the bureau with utmost integrity.
Ngelale said, “Tinubu believes that Bello will lead the bureau with utmost integrity toward the realisation of its mandate of maintaining high standards of public morality in the conduct of government business.”
“Dr. Bello is a consummate professional with more than 25 years of work experience in consulting, banking, law enforcement, financial services, and academia.”
