Lagos police command has arrested an officer for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl.
Gatekeepers News reports that the officer who was attached to Ogudu Area H command allegedly raped the teenager after she reported a case of a stolen phone to the station.
Spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, while speaking with NAN on Sunday, revealed that the officer is currently in custody.
Hundeyin noted that the command would not shield the officer from facing the law, as the matter would not be covered up.
He added that the officer absconded from work after the incident but turned himself in for questioning on Saturday.
The spokesman revealed that Lagos commissioner of police, Adegoke Fayoade had ordered an investigation into the matter.
Hundeyin said, “The case is under full investigation. There is no plan to cover up the allegation.”
