The Nigerian Military, on Monday, announced the rescue of another Chibok girl, Ihyi Abdu who expressed sadness over the killing of her forced ex-husbands while in captivity since 2014.
Gatekeepers News reports that 27-year-old Abdu, a Muslim by faith and is currently 3 months pregnant came out of captivity with two of her children, a male and a female.
This was made known during a brief ceremony held at the Maimalari Cantonment where the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) Maj Gen. Wahidi Shuaibu handed Abdu and her children to the Borno State Government Officials.
Abdu who according to the military is serial 67 on the list of abducted Chibok Schoolgirls published by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2014, revealed that her two children and her unborn baby all belonged to different fathers adding that she felt so sad when she lost some of the former husbands to Nigeria forces during raids of the Boko Haram terrorists camps.
“It was always a sad and depressing moment for me when my former husbands slept (died) during fighting with the military Abdu said.
She gave the names of her six ex-husbands which include Abu Darda who was one of the spokesmen of the Boko Haram terrorists group whom the military revealed had since relocated to Senegal.
Others according to Abdu are Abu Hafsa, Rash, Sabir, Waga and Bana. However, the military said apart from Darda, all her husbands have been neutralised by “their troops.
“Bana was my last husband before I escaped from captivity and he’s responsible for my current pregnancy. Rash is the father of my daughter while Abu Hafsa is the father of my son.
The military also revealed that “at the moment, she is 3 months pregnant. Since her rescue, she has gone through detailed medical examination along with her 2 children and unborn child and was administered with the appropriate treatment and management.”
The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai said Abdu was rescued on the 23rd of June when the troops took the battle to the camp of the terrorists.
“Today being 22 July 24, we are gathered here to witness the handover of another Chibok Schoolgirl rescued during our military operations. Her name is Ihyi Abdu she was rescued from the Sambisa Forest by troops of Sector 1 OPHK. The theatre will continue to do its best to rescue the remaining Chibok girls
“In line with the strategic guidance from the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff. We equally thank the Chief of Army Staff for all the support being provided to the theatre which was instrumental to the successful conduct of the operations that facilitated the rescue of Ihyi Abdu from the Sambisa Forest.”
In a similar development, the Military handed over 330 women and children to officials of the Borno State Government after their rescue from the Sambisa forest.
The Chief Military Intelligence Officer in charge of Civil-Military Relations, Navy Captain Mohammed Ahmed Abdullahi, said 110 Women and 220 Children were the breakdown number of persons rescued.
