President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to unveil the Nigeria Police Green Initiative on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Abuja.
Gatekeepers News reports that the initiative, launched by the Nigeria Police Force, aims to promote environmental sustainability and reduce the force’s environmental footprint.
According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Police Public Relations Officer, the initiative will promote “the adoption of renewable energy sources” and encourage eco-friendly practices to mitigate climate change effects.
The launch will feature activities like tree planting, green zone establishment, and sustainable practice promotion among police personnel.
Adejobi stated, “The Nigeria Police Green Initiative will contribute significantly to global efforts to combat climate change and protect our environment for future generations.”
Earlier, President Tinubu commissioned the NPF National Cybercrime Centre and the NPF Resource Centre, emphasising the need for a concerted approach to insecurity and urging law enforcement agencies to adopt a coordinated and collaborative approach.
