Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has sympathised with veteran broadcaster and Arise News Anchor, Sulaiman Aledeh over the death of his father, Pa Alhaji Amedu Aledeh who died at the age of 80.
Gatekeepers News reports that the IGP’s condolence message was contained in a letter signed by the Force’s Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi.
The IGP described Pa Alhaji Amedu Aledeh as a devoted family man and distinguished community leader who led Van exemplary and fulfilled life.
The statement noted that: “His (Pa Aledeh) contributions to society, particularly as a pioneer staff member of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), are a testament to his dedication, excellence, and grace, His commitment to the healthcare sector and his reputation for uprightness and compassion will remain etched in our memories.
“As we reflect on his life and legacy, we are reminded of the words of Mahatma Gandhi: ‘There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.’
“Indeed, Pa Aledeh’s virtues and teachings will continue to live on through his children and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His wise counsel, commitment to excellence, and devotion to noble ideals are attributes that will forever inspire us.
“In this time of mourning, we also find solace in the words of Helen Keller: ‘What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.’ Pa Aledeh’s legacy of bravery, kindness, and intellectual vigour will undoubtedly remain a part of you and your family.
“We understand that no words can fully alleviate the pain of such a loss, but we hope you find comfort in the beautiful memories you shared with your father and in the knowledge that he touched the lives of many in profound ways.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the entire Aledeh family and pray that God grants you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May Pa Alhaji Amedu Aledeh’s soul rest in perfect peace.”
