Police Command in Lagos State has revealed that no protester #EndBadGovernance is presently detained by it.
Gatekeepers News reports that the command‘s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin made the revelation during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.
Hindeyin said, “All protesters arrested on Thursday were released same Thursday.”
” The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Adegoke Fayoade, called the State CID to order for their release.”
Before this, one of the protets leaders, Mr Inibehe Effiong had told the gathering at Gani Fawehinmi Park that at least twelve (12) protesters were arrested on Thursday.
However, Effiong later corroborated the police spokesman’s claim that all protesters arrested had been released.
He commended police and other security agents for controlling the protest in the state.
The protesters, gathered at the front of Ojota Park on Friday, the second day of the protest.
According to reports, the Lagos police chief was present at the protest ground and personally monitored the protest to ensure that it was not hijacked by hoodlums.
Also, the Commissioner of Police provided water and snacks for the protesters.
When it was time for Juma’at prayer, the protesters suspended the protest for a while for Muslims to observe their prayer.
