At least three bystanders were, on Thursday, killed by an explosive at a filling station while protesters marched through the streets of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Gatekeepers News reports that one other person survived and is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.
Father of two of the victims Liman Usman confirmed the incident and said eyewitnesses told him the police were responsible for the killing of his sons – Ahmed Liman and Modu Liman.
But the spokesman of the Police in Borno State, Nahum Daso who also confirmed that the three persons were killed by an explosive, however, said the matter is already under investigation and can not say who exactly threw the explosive at Kime Filling Station located close to Bolori Junction in the Metropolis.
“We have already commenced an investigation into how three persons were killed by explosives around the Bolori Junction area,” Daso said.
Father of the two victims whose third child Mohammed Liman survived the incident and currently recuperating in the hospital wants the government to fish out the killers of children.

Liman who broke down in tears while narrating how he received the shocking news of the incident said “It’s the responsibility of the government to protect the citizens.”
“I feel terrible about this incident, but the government should live up to its responsibility to protect the citizens,” he said, adding that “I live all to Allah.”
Following violent protests in parts of the state capital, the police imposed a 24-hour curfew to calm the situation.
“In line with our constitutional mandate towards the restoration of law and order his Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno State Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum in consultation with heads of security in the state, finds it’s expedient to declare 24hrs curfew in the state with immediate effect.
“I, therefore, wish to call upon the good people of Borno State to remain calm and law-abiding. Further developments will be communicated to you accordingly please,” ASP Daso said on behalf of the Police Commissioner, Borno State Command, CP Mohammed Yusufu.
