Former English professional footballer, Lee Carsley, 50, has been appointed as interim England manager.
Gatekeepers News reports that the new appointment comes as search for the former manager who resigned two days ago, Gareth Southgate’s successor continues.
Southgate resignation came after Spain defeated the club in the Euro 2024 final last month.
Carsley said, “As I am very familiar with the players and the cycle of international football, it makes sense for me to guide the team while the FA (Football Association) continues the process to recruit a new manager.”
“My main priority is to ensure continuity and our goal is to secure promotion in the Uefa Nations League.”
