Munachimso Brian Nwana, a 22-year-old food consultant from Abuja, has been certified by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the new record holder for visiting the most restaurants in 24 hours.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a single day, Nwana visited an astonishing 150 fast-food restaurants in Abuja, trekking over 25 km on foot.

According to GWR, Nwana’s achievement surpasses the previous record of 100 restaurants set by American YouTuber Airrack last year.

The Nigerian foodie’s feat is all the more impressive given that he completed the entire route on foot, due to the city’s limited public transportation infrastructure.

“Nigerian foodie visits 150 fast food restaurants in 24 hours to smash record! 22-year-old content creator and food consultant Munachimso Brian Nwana has achieved the world record for the most fast food restaurants visited in 24 hours,” the post reads in part.

“Brian visited 150 different establishments, smashing the previous record of 100, which was set last year by American YouTuber Airrack.

“No forms of private transport can be used while attempting this record, and due to the city’s limited public transportation infrastructure, Brian completed his entire route on foot!”

Nwana’s motivation for attempting the record was to promote Abuja’s restaurants and showcase Nigerian cuisine, support local food businesses affected by the economy, and give back to his community by providing free food to those in need.

“I want to put Nigerian foods, specifically Abuja foods, on the map by showing the different kinds and varieties of food we have in the country,” Nwana said in a video shared on his Instagram in March.
