Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) in Borno State, Rev. Father John Bakemi on Wednesday lauded the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for its inclusivity in taking development projects to people of different faiths without discrimination in the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Borno CAN Chairman also promised to continue to partner with the NEDC towards achieving its objectives.
Rev. Father Bakemi disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the NEDC Headquarters in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The CAN Chairman seized the opportunity of the visit to commend the management of NEDC for the projects executed to assist the Association and its members in the state.
He particularly commended the Commission’s leadership for providing the Association with 2 Solar Powered Boreholes and 50 Solar Powered Street Light.
“We have come here as a body just to say thank you and to encourage you and the Commission for the beautiful work you are doing.
“We thank the Federal Government for seeing it necessary to establish a strategic organisation to ensure reconstruction and rehabilitation of the region affected by insurgency,” the CAN Chairman said.
The CAN Chairman then prayed for the Management and Staff of the Commission to prosper in their efforts to achieve the mandate for which the NEDC was established.
The MD/CEO Mohammed Alkali who received the delegation, expressed appreciation for the visit and promised to extend the interventions to all religious bodies to actualise the mandate of the Commission.
