Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of 2,726 suspects in high-profile criminal cases, recovery of 150 firearms, 1,788 ammunition, and rescue of 207 kidnapped victims within a month.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, in a statement released on Friday by the Force’s Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reiterated the Force’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety.
The suspects, who confessed to various offences, including armed robbery and kidnapping, were paraded before the media and the public.
Notable among the cases is that of Hauwa Yusuf, 30, who was intercepted while transporting an AK-47 Rifle and four magazines concealed in a sack of Garri.
The Police Force urges the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely information to aid in investigations and apprehension of criminal elements.
The IGP emphasised the Force’s dedication to protecting lives and property, and the parade serves as a testament to the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.
