Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike gave a goodwill message at first meeting of Forum of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Secretaries of the State Governments (SSGs).
Gatekeepers News reports that the meeting was held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Thursday, 29 August 2024.
Wike expressed his happiness to be present at the meeting which serves as the first meeting held in 2024.
The theme of the event was “Improving Policy Coordination and Implementation for National Development: Government of the States The Roles of Secretaries to the Government of the States.”
The minister noted that the meeting is timely and critical to the nation’s growth, adding that policy coordination and implementation are essential for achieving developmental goals.
Wike commended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume for initiating the forum, which provides a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices.
He further encouraged members of the forum to engage in robust discussions, foster collaborations, and explore innovative solutions to enhance policy implementation.
The minister emphasised the importance of synergy and cooperation between the national and subnational entities to foster harmony and development.
Wike expressed that he does not doubt that the keynote speaker, Senator Anyim Pius, who is a former Secretary to Government of the Federation will bring his wealth of experience to bear and enrich the quality of the discussions for fruitful outcomes that will benefit the nation, drive positive change and propel it to greater heights.
The minister welcomed the attendees once again and wished them a Mease time to go productive and successful meeting.
