American rapper and radio personality, Isaac Freeman III popularly known as Fatman Scoop is dead
Gatekeepers News reports that the rapper died after suffering a medical emergency on stage during a concert at the age of 53.
He collapsed while performing at Hamden Town Center Park in Connecticut on Friday.
A video circulating on social media showed him struggling on stage before disappearing from view as medics rushed to revive him.
Fatman Scoop was pronounced dead at the hospital.
His tour manager announced his tragic passing on Saturday, adding that he was “lost for words.”
The deceased’s bemoaned family also wrote in an Instagram post “The world lost a radiant soul, a beacon on stage and in life.”
His relatives wrote, “If the world knew him as an artist who got clubgoers moving, his family cherished him as the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage.”
