Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf on Saturday, flagged off the construction of a 5km road project in Kunchi town, Ghari Local Government of the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Governor also issued a 7-day ultimatum to contractors handling the project to return to the site or get their contract revoked.
The Governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature revealed this through a statement released.
Yusuf asked that the contractors fully mobilize and return to the site within one week, adding that failure to do so would compel the government to terminate the contract.
Bature said, “The governor noted that the project was initiated during the second tenure of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso to develop rural communities but was abandoned by the immediate past administration.”
“He expressed his appreciation to the people of the area for their patience, support, and cooperation, and instructed the contractor handling the project to fully mobilize to the site within one week. “
“He warned that failure to do so would compel the government to terminate the contract.”
The spokesman added, “Before flagging off the Kilometer road project, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in the company of his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, and other members of the State Executive Council, commissioned a township road in Yandadi town.”
“The Governor and his entourage also conducted an inspection visit to Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies, Ghari.”
“Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf assured the public of the Kano State Government’s readiness to provide all necessary infrastructure to ensure academic activities at the College continue without interruption.”
