Magistrate court in Akure, Ondo State, has remanded Oluwasegun Victor, a 31-year-old pastor of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl.
Gatekeepers News reports that the cleric was charged with “unlawful s3xual intercourse with a minor” by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and is also accused of impregnating five other young ladies.
According to the prosecutor, David Ebriku, the offence contravened section 31(1) of the Child Rights Law of Ondo State 2007, which is punishable under section 31(2) of the law.
Ebriku urged the court to remand the cleric in a correctional centre, stating, “The offence contravened section 31(1) of the Child Rights Law of Ondo state 2007, which is punishable under section 31(2) of the law.”
Taiwo Lebi, the presiding magistrate, ordered that the suspect be kept in the correctional centre, adjourning the case to September 19 for the hearing of the bail application.
