Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has declared his support for Asue Ighodalo, governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state.
Gatekeepers News reports that Edo Governorship election is scheduled to be held on 21 September 2024.
The ‘Assurance’ crooner took to his official Instagram page to endorse Ighodalo on Sunday.
The singer posted a ThisDay cover featuring the governorship candidate and added the caption, “The next governor of my mother’s homeland”
The post comes after Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, Osun state Governor who was part of the delegation of PDP Governors that attended the PDP grand finale rally for Ighodalo, arrived in Benin.
Davido’s mother, Veronica Adeleke, is an indigene of Edo state, she passed away in 2003 due to an illness.
