Governor of Sokoto state, Ahmed Aliyu has urged Muslims in the state to use the maulud celebrations to seek Allah’s intervention on the security challenges confronting the nation.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Governor gave the charge in his Maulud message to the people of the state, released by his press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa.
Governor Aliyu described the security challenges facing the country today as the major setback to Nigeria’s development, hence the need for all hands to be on the deck.
He said, “No meaningful development takes place where there is no peace, so pay more attention to prayers so that our country could get out of its present predicaments.”
” Let us dedicate more time and pray hard as we observe supplications in this festive season.”
The Governor also appealed to Muslim clerics to educate their followers on the significance of prayers, especially in trying moments.
Governor Aliyu reiterated his administration’s determination to promote and support religious activities in the state.
He added, “Promoting islamic affairs is one of our9-point smart agenda, therefore, we’ll accord it the desired attention.”
The Governor further wished the Muslim ummah happy maulud celebrations.
