Ukraine National Security and Defence Council on Friday, restricted the use of the social media application, Telegram in government agencies, military formations, and critical infrastructure facilities.

Gatekeepers News reports that the council revealed this through a post on its Facebook account.

The Defense Council cited threats to national security on the app, adding that it is a matter of national security.

The statement foes, “The National Security and Defence Council decided to restrict the use of Telegram in government agencies, military formations and critical infrastructure facilities.”

It added it was a “matter of national security.”

Telegram was founded by two brothers; Pavel Durov and Nikolai Durov in 2013.
