Federal Government has approved an increase in National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) monthly allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000.
Gatekeepers News reports that the increase which is in line with the enactment of the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024 will take effect from July 2024.
This was announced in a statement issued by the
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)’s Acting Director of Information, Caroline Embu announced this through a statement released.
NYSC Director-General (DG), Brigadier-General Yusha’u Ahmed expressed gratitude, noting that the increment will boost the morale of corps members serving the nation.
Recall that before this, corps members were paid ₦33,000 monthly allowance. It was set by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
