Nigerian Lecturer To Break Guinness World Record With 150 Hour Marathon Lecture

Dr. Nsikak Akpan, a Nigerian lecturer and Provost of Foreign Links College is on a mission to break Guinness World Record (GWR) for longest lecture.

Gatekeepers News reports that the current record which was set by Indian professor Arvin Mishra in 2014, was done in 139 hours, 52 minutes and 42 seconds.

The lecturer began his lecture marathon on Monday at the school campus in Moro, Ife-North Local Government Area (LGA), and reached 58 hours of lecture time as of Wednesday evening.

The lecture titled “The relationship between man’s environment and health,” is being delivered to an audience of students.

The lecturer who is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) will become the first Nigerian lecturer to break the record if he succeeds in completing the challenge on Sunday, September 29 by 5 pm.

Akpan revealed that his aim for embarking on the challenge is to give back to the academic community and enlighten people on the harmful effects of environmental abuse on human health.
