Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to activist and social media influencer, Isaac Bristol popularly known as PIDOM.
Gatekeepers News reports that this was announced through a post on X by fellow activist Action Alliance Congress (AAC) 2023 Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore who had earlier posted his presence at the High Court for the hearing of PIDOM’s case.
He posted, “Today, we are present at the Federal High Court in Abuja today in solidarity with individuals subjected to repression under the @officialABAT regime, today for the first time I met Isaac Bristol aka, @PIDOMNIGERIA, who remains steadfast and unwavering; others include activists advocating for great governance in Nigeria, falsely accused of TREASON, with additional names recently added by @policeNg and newly amended charges. #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #FearlessInOctober”
After while, he posted, “Isaac Bristol granted Bail! @PIDOMNIGERIA #FREEPIDOMNIGERIANO”
At the court session on Friday,
The presiding judge of the court, Emeka Nwite in his ruling, granted PIDOM N5 million bail with one surety in like sum.
The judge rulws that the surety must be a resident of Abuja and depose to an affidavit of means. He said the surety must also provide evidence of three years of tax clearance with two passport-sized photographs.
Judge Nwite also ruled that the defendant must deposit his passport with the court.
Recall that PIDOM was arraigned on September 4, on a nine-count charge brought against him by Inspector General of Police on alleged money laundering, cybercrime, and unlawfully obtaining, retaining, and disseminating classified secret documents.
