Deputy Controller of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Michael Anugwa has said he and his colleagues were not suspended by the service.
Gatekeepers News reports that Anugwa said this when asked why he was wearing his uniform to the hearing during a probe into allegations of N15 million bribery against Bobrisky, EFCC, and NCoS by National House of Assembly on Monday.
Recall that Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo had earlier suspended officers overseeing the Maximum and Minimum Custodial Centres in Kirikiri, Lagos State over the allegation.
The deputy controller who was the officer in command at Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kiri-kiri, Lagos state, where Bobrisky served her sentence, however, alleged he wasn’t served a suspension letter as it was a social media suspension.
When asked if he was under suspension he said, “Yes, there was a press release, international day and news that I and my colleagues in NCoS and some others have been suspended.”
He added that they were not given a reason for the suspension and were not served letter.
Anugwa added, “It was a social media suspension.”
