Super Eagles on Friday gathered 1-0 scores against Libya in AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
Gatekeepers News reports that the match was held at Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state.
Nigeria’s team was able to achieve the goal in the 86th minute due to a late goal by a substitute, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Dele-Bashiru scored the goal with a composed finish to secure all three points for Super Eagles which was struggling to break down Libya’s defense despite dominating possession.
Before this, Samuel Chukwueze missed a clear chance in the 70th minute, while a goal by Ademola Lookman was disallowed for offside in the 83rd minute.
At the end of the game, Nigeria was at the top of Group D with seven points.
Super Eagles will face Libya again in the return leg on Tuesday.
