Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to pay Kasmal International Services N579,130,698,440 with 10% interest per annum on the judgment sum from January 1, 2015, to January 31, 2020, for its role in stamp duty collection.

Gatekeepers News reports that the ruling was delivered by the presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo in a case brought up by Kasmal against CBN and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

Before the ruling, CBN had filed a preliminary objection against a lawsuit brought to the court by Kasmal International Services.

The company had sought a court order barring CBN from disbursing all accrued deposits paid into CBN NIPOST stamp duty collection account by all commercial banks.
