Political Affiliation: Aisha Yesufu Dissociates Self From LP

Activist known for echoing her voice against bad governance in Nigeria, Aisha Yesufu has finally spoken on her political stands, saying she is not a card-carrying member of Labour Party (LP) or any other political party.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Co-convener of #BringBackOurGirls revealed she is non-affiliated with any political party during an interview on Seun Okinbaloye’s podcast ‘Mic OM on Saturday.

Yesufu noted that despite her role in 2023 LP presidential campaign council, she is not a member of the party.

Yesufu, a prominent voice in the #EndSARS movement noted that that she has never sought political appointments or contracts.

She emphasised that her activism is driven by her financial independence, which she had secured long before speaking on Nigeria issues.

The activist said, “For me, I worked on my financial independence before I started speaking on Nigerian issues,”

“I am not a member of the Labour Party. I have never been a card-carrying member of any party.”

Yesufu challenged anyone, living or dead, to come forward if she had ever sought political favours, appointments, or contracts.

She added, “I am a trader! I buy, I sell, I distribute, build, and sell houses.”
