Lionel Messi delivered an outstanding performance for Argentina on Tuesday, scoring three goals in a 6-0 victory against Bolivia during a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
Gatekeepers News reports that this match marked Messi’s 10th international hat-trick, equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s record in men’s soccer.

He also conveyed his enjoyment of playing, emphasising his comfort with the team and expressing a desire to continue performing as long as he feels good.
In addition to his three goals, the Inter Miami forward contributed two assists in the match.
Messi opened the scoring by capitalising on a defensive mistake in the 19th minute. He assisted Lautaro Martínez for the second goal shortly before halftime and later provided a precise pass that set up Julián Álvarez to score.
The second half saw Thiago Almada increase the lead to 4-0, followed by two quick goals from Messi. The first showcased his trademark style as he manoeuvred through the Bolivian defence to score, reminiscent of his time with Barcelona.
Shortly after, he curled a left-footed shot into the net, bringing the score to 6-0.
This match was just Messi’s second appearance for Argentina since July, after recovering from an ankle injury. After a draw with Venezuela and a loss to Colombia, Argentina currently tops the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying table with 22 points and is scheduled to face Paraguay on November 14.
