Accounting Officer

Required Qualifications: BA/BSC/HND
Location: Lagos | Nigeria.
Job Description:
Experience and Technical Knowledge
- Minimum of one (1) year of industry/or consulting experience working in an accounting/ finance-related position.
- Knowledge of accounting fundamentals, concepts and conventions as well as bookkeeping principles.
- Strong technical knowledge, understanding, application and interpretation of relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel.
- Working knowledge of accounting software and ERP.
- Specific knowledge of key processes involved in any of the following:
- Accounts receivable management and revenue recognition
- Accounts payable management and cost accounting
- Treasury operations
- Accounts preparation and consolidation
- Good understanding of treasury and other financial management-related concepts.
Skills and personal attributes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate.
- Quantitative, attention-to-detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to ethical standards and high level of integrity.
- Ability to research, read, comprehend and critically examine accounting standards and other pronouncements in order to have an informed point of view .
- Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations without compromising on quality and ethical standards and values.
- Ability to challenge existing practices to develop answers to complex issues.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A first degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, economics or a business-related discipline.
- Qualified (or student member at the final stage of qualification) with a recognised professional accounting body (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA).
